It seems that one of the characteristics of the famous Danish toy company is to anticipate the big surprises that the ambitious films of Marvel Studios have in store for us. Still unable to recover, emotionally, from what happened in Spider-Man: No Way Homewhat comes with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswe may have forgotten that the God of Thunder will debut in theaters with Thor: Love and Thunder and that is why LEGO has revealed what Gorr, the Butcher God, will look like, played by the Oscar winner Christian bale.
the novelty merchandise is a LEGO set that includes the figures of Thor, Jane Foster, Gorr, but also Korg (Taika Waititi), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and the God of Thunder’s pair of goats: Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher.
In one of the illustrative images (via ScreenRant) we see Thor and Jane Foster fight Gorr aboard the Goat Boat. The Asgardian superheroes fight from the air as they fire cerulean bolts at the villain from the deck of the Asgardian ship.
If you pay attention, Gorr wields a black sword, which could be the Necrosword, the obsidian weapon that gave him immortality and a series of powers, worthy of a God, such as strength, speed, regeneration, durability and flight.
But to tell the truth, he look of the toys still doesn’t give us an exact idea of what Christian Bale will look like in the movie. Is that gray face and white suit the product of CGI, rudimentary makeup, or both?
Who is Gorr, the new villain of Thor: Love and Thunder?
In the world of comics, hat first appeared in Thor: God of Thunder #2 (2013), having been created by writer Jason Aaron and illustrator Esad Ribic. It is about an alien of unknown race, an inhabitant of a barren planet where the dangerous climatic conditions sentenced his misfortune: an earthquake killed his wife and some time later his children also succumbed to the implacable nature. Devastated, Gorr took the position that gods don’t exist, which was frowned upon by the superstitious community to which he belonged and led to his banishment.
Later, this solitary character witnesses the combat of two deities in the sky and this belies his beliefs but causes a greater fury in his interior: the gods do exist, but they are indifferent towards mortals. It is then that Gorr manages to take over theAll-Black Necrosword(a weapon made up of a symbiote) and with it he swears to eradicate all the gods of the multiverse.
Later, having killed the Gods of Time, Gorr has access to a portal to navigate different time lines, which he uses to search for a young Thor Odison on Earth (during the Middle Ages) with the intention of killing him. The “Butcher” fails and he loses an arm, after which he decides to create an army of henchmen and thus continue his mission.
He then confronts an adult Thor in the time of the Avengers and immediately travels back in time, this time into the future, to lay siege to Asgard ruled by an ancient God of Thunder. At that time, Gorr was already planning to use a “divine bomb” to destroy every deity in the multiverse and it will take three Thors (young, old, and old) to stop him.
Thor: Love and Thunder debuts in theaters next July 8, 2022.
The Thor: Love and Thunder: LEGO entry reveals the look of Gorr, the Butcher God was first published in Cinema PREMIERE.
