It’s been a tough week for Warner Bros. Discovery. After the various announcements that have been released this week, comments on disappointed fan networks have been the order of the day. Between laments, claims and mockery, it seems that everyone has an opinion. The most recent to join the conversation was Simu Liu, star of Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings (from Marvel), who via Twitter posted a message that seems to mock the cancellation of the Batgirl movie.
The actor wrote on Twitter an ironic message about a supposed Shang-Chi Christmas special that had just been canceled despite already being filmed. Of course, this special is not real and it was all a joke that the actor decided to do at the expense of everything that happened in “the house across the street.”
However, not all his followers received the joke lightly, as many found it in bad taste and “too soon” to start making fun of it. Although the Shang-Chi star’s comments were surely not directed at anyone from the cast or crew of batgirlbut to the executive heads of Warner Bros. Discovery, their message could easily be misunderstood.
The full message reads:
I am very sorry to inform you that Disney has decided to cancel the Shang-Chi Holiday Special due to quality control concerns. I had already filmed the entire program. I even designed an all-ginger Ta-Lo. Rest in peace Shang Chi and the legend of the ten rings. [La última línea es un juego de palabras con una canción navideña norteamericana popular].
I’m sorry to inform you guys that Disney has decided to scrap the Shang-Chi Holiday Special due to quality control concerns. I had already filmed the entire thing. I even designed an all-gingerbread Ta Lo. RIP Shang Chi and the Legend of the TEEEN GOLDEN RIIIIINGS
