Second season of Rebelde announced on Netflix

Not even a week after its premiere, the series Rebel Netflix can boast that it will have a second season. The announcement occurred last Sunday, during a virtual event – entitled “We are all rebellious” – that the same red “N” broadcast from her YouTube channel.

In that livestream, the protagonists Alejandro Puente (Sebastián), Selene (Andi), Sergio Mayer Mori (Esteban), Andrea Chaparro (MJ), Azul Guaita (Jana Cohen), Franco Masini (Luka), Giovanna Grigio (Emilia) and Jerónimo gathered. It seems that the king of streaming he has faith that his show will emulate the success of the eponymous original soap opera. But will it succeed? So far, the only detail revealed from the second season of Rebel is that the Mexican singer Saak will be part of it.

Netflix released the first eight episodes of this series revival last Wednesday, January 5. To date, it remains within the ten most popular contents in Mexico, as exhibited by the same platform of video on demand. On the other hand, it will be until tomorrow, January 11, that we will know how Rebel in its first week, not only in Mexico but in the rest of Latin America. Rebel is a Woo Films and Propagate production, directed by Santiago Limón (Cindy the Regia). Its first season features special performances by Estefanía Villarreal (Celina Ferrer), Leonardo de Lozanne, Karla Sofia Gascón, Pamela Almanza, Dominika Paleta and Karla Cossío, who returns as Pilar Gandía, one of the Elite Way School alumni.

“Another generation comes to the Elite Way School to fulfill their musical dreams, but first they will have to face a familiar enemy: the Lodge, a secret society,” dictates an official synopsis.

Netflix’s title is a continuation of Rebel, the youth soap opera that Televisa broadcast between 2004 and 2006, which also became a television and musical phenomenon in Latin America. Its stellar cast was made up of Alfonso Herrera, Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christopher Uckermann and Christian Chávez.

For its part, said telenovela was an adaptation of Rebel way, the original version (produced in Argentina) of the story conceived by Cris Morena.
