In recent weeks, a production from India has caught the attention of many moviegoers and lovers of action movies. Thanks to Netflix, we now have access to this epic story that has left no one indifferent: RRR, a film that was also a box office success. Here we tell you the details you should know.

What is it about RRR?

In essence, we could say that it is a historical film. Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheeem were two revolutionary men who fought against the British colonial rule in India in the 1920s, which was also known as the “British Raj”. However, the plot of this film is fictitious and works as an answer to “what would have happened if these men had met and become rivals or friends?

After the kidnapping of a girl belonging to a marginalized tribe, Bheem will travel to Delhi to rescue her. On his journey he will meet Rama Raju, an officer of the Raj who is after him to put him in jail. A friendship will emerge between them, but once the truths of both come to light… will they be able to betray each other if necessary?

Why RRR is it all a success?

At first glance, it would seem that its duration (187 minutes) would become an impediment for the public to enjoy this epic adventure. However, its high doses of humor, action and drama form a very attractive combination for those looking to have a good time in front of the screen.

For some, the best comparison of this tape would be the franchise Fast and furious, where the protagonists star in brutally exaggerated action sequences in which there is no physics or any realistic aspect. Also, it serves as a small dose of Indian history for all those who like to see historical passages on the screen.

So far, the film accumulates more than $160 million dollars raised worldwide. It broke several box office records and is currently one of the top five grossing movies in Indian history.

Thanks to the tremendous show it provides, the film has been compared to Marvel productions, to which the director responded as follows: dead line:

“Of course I watch Marvel movies, I like Hombre de HierroI love watching those movies. But I don’t think I’d be able to direct a Marvel movie because the sensibility is different. I’m more of an expert on these things. Probably in the future, I hope everything goes well and I can bring my stories from India, my mythology from India to the level of Marvel or even more.”
