Paramount and Spyglass are sure to give Ghostface a long life. The masked killer will continue to dish out slashes and make phone calls for years to come scream 6. To close the deal, the studio has called back the creative team behind the fifth film, while it is still in theaters.

Despite the growing wave of infections resulting from the holidays and the appearance of a new variant of the coronavirus, for the public, real-life terror is not enough. This is probably why viewers welcomed the new film with open arms. screamwhich reaped a number of dollars quite decent and juicy as leaving aside a continuity.

In addition, the critics responded favorably to the renewal of the saga, applauding a story that respected the essence of the late Wes Craven and at the same time turned it on its head to place the murderous and suspenseful narrative in a more aware today of recycled content, sequels and endless reboot.

Paramount paid attention and for these reasons considered that the green light for scream 6, was not a subject that required much discussion. There was also not much talk about the creatives who will be tasked with returning to Ghostface. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to directing, setting up a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick for the screen. The latter also writers of the fifth installment. The pair of writers commented on their return to the franchise:

“Is this real life? Being able to collaborate once again with our friends in the next installment of the history of scream It’s more than we could have hoped for. We are overwhelmed to be able to continue playing in the sandbox that Kevin and Wes created. It is, as Ghostface would say, an honor.”

For their part, the representatives of Paramount and Spyglass claimed to be excited enough to continue the saga, but above all “tremendously grateful to the fans around the world, who enthusiastically received” installment number five.

“Working with such a talented and creative family of creators, building on the well-built legacy of Wes and Kevin, has been the experience of a lifetime and we are so excited to continue the work on the next scream 6the studio said.

The last movie scream It hit theaters on January 13 and since its debut it has been appreciated by professional critics and fans. The general public was also pleased with the return of Ghostface, thus granting him earnings that so far have already exceeded the barrier of 100 million dollars.

For Cinema PREMIERE, Scream It is a “tape that consolidates a fascinating world of metafiction that, like the rest of this saga, pays tribute to the horror cinema that is in our blood.” You can read the full review here.
