A couple of years after ad of a film adaptation live action of One-Punch ManSony Pictures has finally revealed the director who will bring Saitama’s adventures to the big screen in Hollywood: justin lin.
dead line reported the hiring of the filmmaker responsible for five installments of the sagaFast and furious —Fast and Furious: Tokyo Challenge(2006), Fast and furious(2009), Fast and Furious: 5in control(2011), Fast and furious 6 (2013) andfast and furious 9 (2021)—and Star Trek: Limitless (2016). Lin recently left the direction of fast and furious 10 due to creative differences.
The script will be co-written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, who previously collaborated on Venom (2018) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). Justin Lin will also share credits as producer of the live action of One-Punch Man, alongside Avi and Ari Arad of Arad Productions. The plan is to start production later this year.

The franchise has its origin in the homonymous webcomic created and self-published by the artist ONE in 2009. The publisher Shueisha would reissue the work for publication as a manga in the magazine Weekly Young Jumpwith illustrations by Yusuke Murata, as of June 2012. The print has 26 compiled volumes to date and exceeds 30 million copies sold worldwide.

“Saitama started out as a hero out of pure love, and after three years of grueling training, he achieved such a level of strength that he can take down any enemy with a single punch. Now the exciting life he hoped to have has turned into one of utter tedium, but will there be someone on his level among all the heroes in the world? And a villain capable of overshadowing him?
Saitama’s story inspired a successful anime series with two 12-episode seasons broadcast in 2015 and 2019, respectively; as well as the launch of the video game One-Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsand mobile game One Punch Man: Road to Hero in 2019.
