Jesse Williams, a famous actor, known for Grey’s Anatomy, has landed a part in Hulu’s drama pilot “Olga Dies Dreaming.”
Williams has been added to the cast of the upcoming pilot, which was inspired by the book by Xóchitl Gonzalez, who is credited with writing the source material. The streamer has had operate since April.
The series recounts the tale of a gentrifying Sunset Park, Brooklyn Nuyorican brother (Rodríguez) and sister (Plaza) who, in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, must come to terms with their mother’s absence and their dazzling professions among New York City’s elite.
Williams plays Matteo, a person who collects information of many types and has the character trait of acquiring many viewpoints. He’s the kind of guy that goes above and beyond to help you. Even when you need a simple answer, he will follow you to help you make the best choice. His inquisitiveness comes off as presumptuous if it’s not really contagious. He refuses to fit into any of the tidy little boxes people place him and others in and instead puts himself at ease in the middle of disorder.
Williams is most remembered for his lengthy stint on the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” which aired for 12 seasons. Williams, who plays Jackson Avery on the show, has been on it since 2009, but ABC has been planning his departure since May. And, notably, he appeared in many episodes of the spinoff “Station 19.” Williams is familiar to Hulu viewers, who remember her from many episodes of the Hulu limited series “Little Fires Everywhere,” where she played several characters. In addition to “The Cabin in the Woods” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” he is famous for his performances in other movies.
He is represented by CAA, Management 360, and Granderson Des Rochers.
Gonzalez is writing and overseeing production on “Olga Dies Dreaming,” a series he created. The project will be directed and overseen by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. Plaza and Rodríguez will each appear and be credited for their actions in the film. The studio is 20th Television.
