However, the fans need (we) know a little more and therefore every word that comes out of the mouth of anyone involved is newsworthy.
In this case, it was Michael Keaton who praised Andy Muschietti’s way of working (via), as well as his creativity in an act of reference to the way his bat character will be brought back to the movies. In the process, he further revealed a little more about the reasons why he agreed to put on the dark knight’s suit again.
“When the proposal first came to me, I was curious about it. I thought, ‘Wow, what would that be like?’ And then, coincidentally, there were rumors, and I got a call from Warner Bros. They wanted to talk to me about something and there were hints about Batman. It has to be good. There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. It’s not worth it if it really isn’t going to change anything. So I just jumped in and had fun. And why wouldn’t you? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic and he’s really creative. I do not know. It’s fun”.
Although little is known about the film, it is evident to everyone that the creatives behind the film intend to take inspiration from the narrative. flash point to make this film event possible. Just like Marvel did recently with Spider-Man: No Way Home, DC is ready to set up its cinematic multiverse.
In flash point, Barry Allen travels back in time to the exact moment his mother is killed when he was still an infant. In the interest of saving his beloved mother’s life, what Barry doesn’t know is that by making this significant change in events, he will forever change the future and create countless ramifications of known reality.
In this window of opportunity Andy Muschietti and Michael Keaton will play like a playground to bring back the Batman whom Tim Burton gave birth to in his 1989 film. Along with Keaton, expect a host of cameos, surprise appearances and even the introduction of new characters that will be decisive for the future of the DC cinematic universe.
Flash is directed by Muschietti from a multiversal, confusing and challenging script by Christina Hodson. We say this because Keaton himself has already warned in the past that it took him longer than expected to understand the plot of the film:
“I had to read [el guion] more than three times to understand it. ‘Wait… how does this work?’ “said the actor. “They had to explain it to me several times.”
The film will hit theaters on November 4 this year.
