Jared Leto responds to whether we will see him again as Joker or Morbius

Should the world beg for more “ha…ha…ha” laughs or more vampire dancing, the question is a genuine concern. Will we see Jared Leto again with Joker tattoos or Morbius fangs? However, being very honest, it does not seem that many fans are going to demonstrate in the offices of Warner Bros. Pictures and Sony Pictures demanding the return of the actor in those unattractive versions of such characters. But for any unforeseen event, the Oscar winner chooses to leave the door open to the possibility of being granted second chances.

Morbius (2022)

Jared Leto first played the Joker in suicide squad, a 2016 film that generated colossal expectation, fueled by an exciting trailer featuring Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. And the rest is history… Although the hype allowed it to succeed at the box office, today it remains the least valued film in the DC Extended Universe, with its 26% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And the Joker, who in the previews seemed to be central to the film – to the point of seeming like the main villain -, in the end he was practically absent from the screen. So Leto didn’t even have enough time to try to convince the public that his outrageous portrayal of the criminal clown really worked.

Now what happened to Morbius? To begin with, this film of the eponymous Marvel Comics character suffered from constant delays as a result of COVID-19. And when it finally hit theaters, in March 2022, the vast majority of viewers found a film without head or tail. Of course, with enough ridiculousness to make countless memes. But this does not mean that the Tomatometer evaluates it even worse than suicide squadwith its 16% rating, which also makes Morbius in the most repudiated film in the Spider-Man universe.

But even though the actor hit rock bottom in not one, but two multi-million dollar franchises, hope dies last. In a recent interview with The PlaylistJared Leto was faced with the question of whether we will see him again as Joker or Morbius, to which he replied: Well, as the old saying goes, never say never..

In 2021, the interpreter was still celebrating having been able to make his own approach to the Joker. Let’s not forget that he even said “yes” to Zack Snyder when he offered to have a scene in the corrected and expanded version of Justice League, which came to HBO Max a year ago. So if Jared Leto finally says goodbye to the laughing homicide, it won’t be for lack of enthusiasm.

“Putting yourself in the Joker’s shoes is an incredible opportunity,” he confessed back then (via). “It’s like this generation’s modern version of taking on an infamous, Shakespearean character. A lot of people have played the part before and a lot of people will play the role after, so it really is the offering to do something new and explore challenging territory.”
