The streaming platform is negotiating to keep the rights to the famous Santa Monica franchise.
The expansion of the video game industry is already unstoppable and while HBO is in charge of adapting The Last of Us as a live-action series, Amazon Prime Video wants to do exactly the same with another of the emblematic sagas of PlayStation: God of War.
This was just reported dead line, medium that echoes that the company is negotiating the last details with Sony to bring this adaptation, also in live-action series format, to its streaming platform. As detailed, there is already a team working on the first sketches with Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (The Expanse) in the lead and Rafe Judkins (The Wheel of Time) officiating as showrunner.

It also transcends that Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions would be part of the project, all this in a context in which recently Dwayne Johnson revealed that he is working on a project that will adapt a “big and brutal video game”. Will The Rock be the Kratos we’ve been waiting for so long? We will see what the Japanese company reports in the coming weeks.
