For lovers of adrenaline on board four wheels, there is a documentary series made between Netflix and the Formula 1 World Championship that, over three seasons, has given us exclusive access to drivers, team managers, owners and the Formula 1 management team. 2022 will be particularly attractive because it seems to be the year that season 4 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Although there are few details about its next premiere, here is what is known about this new batch of episodes.
What is it about?
Whether or not you are a fervent follower of the maximum circuit automobile competitions, Formula 1: Drive to Survive stands out in the catalog of the titan of the streaming for giving us different perspectives on what’s happening on and off the racetrack.
The first season of the series produced by James Gay-Rees (Senna) takes place during the 2018 Australian Grand Prix and debuted on the platform in March 2019 with a total of 10 episodes. The second season covered the celebration of the 2019 German Grand Prix and debuted on the platform in February 2020 with a total of 10 episodes. Finally, the third season covered the Sakhir Grand Prix celebration and debuted on the platform in March 2021 with 10 episodes as well.
During those three seasons we have seen important Formula 1 figures such as Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz Jr., Fernando Alonso, Sebatian Vettel, Esteban Ocon, Sergey Sirotkin, the Mexican Sergio Pérez, Romain Grosjean, Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc, Nico Hülkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Lando Norris, Valtteri Bottas, George Russell, Robert Kubica, Alex Albon, Lewis Hamilton and mentions of late drivers such as Niki Lauda and Jules Bianchi.
When does season 4 premiere Formula 1: Drive to Survive?
Netflix has not given many clues about it, but if we take into account the arrival of the first three seasons, we could think that the fourth season will be available between February and March 2022.

What will the new season be about? Formula 1: Drive to Survive?
As is tradition, season 4 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will document the events that occurred during the 2022 Formula 1 season. In it, Max Verstappen snatched the title from Lewis Hamilton in a rather dramatic last lap.
Unfortunately, the Dutch pilot Max Verstappen has declared himself a detractor of the documentary project and confessed that Netflix has always tried to exaggerate or dramatize various rivalries and events. Therefore, he denied his active participation in the fourth season, although he may have some incidental appearances as it is a documentary production.
“They faked some rivalries that don’t really exist,” the automotive driver told Associated Press. “So I decided not to be a part of it and I didn’t do any more interviews after that because then there’s nothing you can show. I’m not really a drama person, I just want facts and real things to happen.”
Who could appear in the new episodes is toto wolffCEO of Mercedes-Benz in Formula 1, a recurring character in the story starring Hamilton and Verstappen.
Also, the journalist Will Buxton reported that they already have the interviews ready for season 4 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive.
