yesterday at last Amazon Studios unveiled the official title of the series based on the world of JRR Tolkien. Despite the excitement for the series for fans of The Lord of the rings, name the rings of power It doesn’t seem to fit completely into the audiovisual compendium of the world that director Peter Jackson started for the image.
It was of little use that the creators of the series made an effort to even forge the title in metal on a carved wooden mold. The moment was captured with special cameras and in slow motion to shape from there the video clip that was released on social networks and with which the official title was revealed for the first time.
On the other hand, the synopsis itself would have to be more than enough justification for fans to call the series the rings of power. According to this, the Show “unites all the major stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic story of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.”
However, fans consider that this title lacks a punch. That “something” that makes the series a worthy episode in the history of audiovisual adaptations of the stories created by Tolkien. And so they manifested it widely in social networks.
“LOTR: Rings of Power is a terrible name, it doesn’t fit at all with the titles of the previous films or the books. This name will generate very little interest for anyone.
“Excited, but it’s a terrible title. Why not LOTR: The Second Age? Much better than The Rings of Power. Sounds like a minor quest in The Witcher 3.”
“The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power is a pretty weak title. It’s like “Star Wars: Star Wars” or “Mad Max: Max Goes Mad.” Couldn’t they at least call it “LOTR: Dawn of the Nazgul”, “The Rise of Sauron”, “The Siege of Middle-earth” or “The Fires of Mordor”? «
“Rings of power sounds like crap from the MCU”
“I’m no marketing expert, but I feel Rings of Power: A Tale of Middle-earth sounded much cleaner”
It must have been something like “Middle-earth: The Rings of Power” or “The Gray Wizard: The Rings of Power” or “Terrible Thrills Attempted by Whispering Children: The Rings of Power.” Otherwise it’s pretty easy.”
Is it possible that the fans have some power to change the title of the series? If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the past year, it’s that fans have managed to build huge media campaigns to get their way. Perhaps Amazon will reflect on the title of the series and make some changes later to satisfy the hordes of fans who will be glued to the television to watch the series when it arrives on the platform starting on September 2.
The entry Lord of the Rings Fans Are Unhappy with the Series Title was first published in Cinema PREMIERE.
