What is it about?

Drive My Car stars Yūsuke Kafuku (Hidetoshi Nishijima), an actor and theater director. He is married to Fukaku, a woman involved in the art world who writes theater scripts. They are both happily married; however, one day Fukaku disappears for no apparent reason, but haunted by a secret. Two years later, Yusuke moves on with his life and takes a job directing a theater festival. On the way to Hiroshima, he meets Misaki Watari (Tōko Miura), his reserved private chauffeur. As the days go by with her, Yusuke will rediscover certain aspects of her life that he had forgotten.

“Despite not being able to recover from a personal drama, Yusuke Kafuku, actor and theater director, agrees to put on the play Uncle Vanya at a festival in Hiroshima.
