Phase 5 of the Marvel Universe continues to expand with new characters. One of the most anticipated is Riri Williams “Iron heart”, played by Dominique Thorne. We will meet Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and will soon have its own series, whose filming is about to begin. Now we know that a participant of the famous program RuPaul’s Drag Race will have a participation in said project, but… How important will the role of Shea Couleé be in iron heart?

iron heart will introduce us to the life of Riri Williams, the inventor who created the most technologically advanced suit since Iron Man. Anthony Ramos (In the neighborhood) and Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo: A Star Wars Story) are also part of the cast. Although the character of Shea Couleé is kept secret, many netizens began to speculate that he could play shadownow known as Darkevilthe first superheroine drag queen from the comics.
Darnell Wade was born in Brooklyn and grew up reading comics about New York’s most popular heroes. During his youth he was transformed into Shade, a drag queen inspired by the characters he loved so much. Her greatest ambition was to be the star of a competition of drags, but her best friend, Tea, got the opportunity before her, humiliating her on national television and leaving her wanting to disappear. That moment she unleashed her powers, with which she can teleport and control the Dark Force.
Shade was created by comic book writer Sina Grace, who at the time cited Couleé as inspiration for the character (via):
“Shade was inspired by a lot of drag queens, but I officially rank Shea Couleé, Dax Exclamation Point, The Vixen and Monet XChange as the main ones. Honestly, I was just wondering what my sister’s best friend Jomar would look like as a superhero. He was the first gay person that I really knew when he was a kid, he had the body of a man who was not in shape, and I felt it was very important to put that on the pages.”
