The meeting of three versions of Spider-Man was not the only “surprise” -confirmed rumor, rather- that brought us Spider-Man: No Way Home. Another aspect of the film that had been sounding strong for months was the presence of charlie coxin his famous role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil. And indeed, the British actor starred in a memorable scene from the spider web, where his character became “a very good lawyer” for Peter Parker. But now, what exactly is in store for Hell’s Kitchen’s vigilante?
Obviously Marvel Studios would be wrong if those three minute cameos didn’t lead to more Daredevil involvement within the MCU. There is no doubt that fans are longing to see him star in his own film saga and cross paths with other superheroes in the franchise. However, the popular interpreter of him confesses that she is still in the shadows regarding possible future collaborations with the House of Ideas.
“I still don’t know what the rules are,” Charlie Cox said in a recent interview with Supanova. “Obviously now it is known that I am in spider-man. But more than that, I don’t know. And what little I know, obviously I’m not going to say. But the only thing I would say is that for a long time I was asked these questions and I had not really heard anything.
Such questions – to which Cox refers – were those focused on his potential return as Daredevil, after the cancellation of the homonymous Netflix series, which was made up of three seasons, released between 2015 and 2018. By the end of 2020, Disney regained the rights to the character, which opened the opportunity to include him in Spider-Man: No Way Home. And it would not be surprising if ideas are already circulating to give it greater prominence.
“The genuine truth is that I assumed 100% that that [mi interpretación de Daredevil] had been left behind, that the ship had just set sail,” the Londoner shared in the same interview. “I didn’t hear from any of the Marvel people for a couple of years. Now it seems like I was lying for a long time, but actually I didn’t. I was only lying for a short time. I still don’t want to spoil it for people.”

In December 2021, the boss of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feig, stated that if he did more series or movies with Daredevil, Charlie Cox would be the only man behind the mask. This results in very good news for the Briton, who treasures having starred Daredevil Netflix and is hopeful of “being able to do a lot more” with the character, now within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I feel very lucky to have been chosen for that role. It’s a gift that keeps on rewarding. I loved every minute of doing the show. And so to be asked to come back and be involved — in any capacity — is absolutely exciting to me,” Cox told Supanova. “I don’t want to sound greedy, but I hope I can do a lot more. I look forward to getting much, much more involved for many years to come. I hope it never ends and that it gets to the point where people say, ‘You’re too old to play this role.
And I add:
“I don’t know what his plans are, but yes, my hope is that I can do everything that I am allowed to do and participate. And it would be so much fun. The one thing that being in the MCU allows—and that we really couldn’t do with the Netflix projects—is that I can now interact with other characters in the MCU. So that would be great. Crossovers is what I would like to do next […] There are some really interesting stories that I would love for the character to explore.”
