Sources indicate that Warner preferred to take a tax deduction for the production of batgirl instead of releasing it in theaters or on HBO Max as originally planned. From now on, the company wishes to bet on films destined for the big screen and not for streaming.

“Our incredible cast and crew did a tremendous job and worked so hard to bring this movie to life. batgirl”, the statement continues. “We will be eternally grateful to have been a part of that team. It was a dream to work with such fantastic actors as Michael Keaton, JK Simmons, Brendan Fraser, Jacob Scipio, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front, and especially the great Leslie Grace, who played Batgirl with such passion, dedication and humanity.”

batgirl was in an awkward position because the studio did not consider that this production was big enough to justify a heavy investment for its distribution in theaters, but it was also not small enough to be profitable within the competitive market of the streaming.

“Regardless, as huge Batman fans since we were little kids, it was a privilege and an honor to have been a part of the DCEU, even if only for a brief moment. batgirl forever,” the statement concludes.
