Finally there will be no Avengers reunion. Months ago there were reports of a future action and romance film – alien to the MCU – with the interpreters of Captain America and Black Widow. However, it seems that Scarlett Johansson had to leave the project, due to some scheduling problems. And now, taking her place next to Chris Evans, is the Cuban Ana de Armas, whom we saw for the last time as Paloma in No Time to Die.
Originally that forthcoming production, titled GhostedIt was going to have Johansson and Evans in the leading roles. Of course, both actors – to date, two of the biggest stars in Hollywood – are very good friends and frequent collaborators. Beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they also shared credits in The perfect brand (2004) and A babysitter in distress (2007), this being the first and last time they played a loving couple.
In fact, there was expectation that these celebrities would put a love chemistry to the test again, because Ghosted it is described as an adventure, action and romance film. But unfortunately Scarlett Johansson will no longer be part of it. Deadline reported that her exit from the project happened amicably and that it was due to a conflict between the actress’s times and those of the production, which is scheduled to begin in February 2022.
At the same time, the same media reported that Ana de Armas had been signed to replace Johansson, in addition to serving as executive producer of Ghosted. Chris Evans himself appears as the producer of the feature film, in complicity with the Skydance Media team, made up of David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger. Directs Dexter fletcher (Rocketman) from a script co-written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool).
Details of the plot remain in the shadows. For now, it is known that the film has the shelter of Apple Studios.
Ana de Armas and Chris Evans come from working together in The gray man, a future Netflix thriller – currently in post-production – starring Ryan Gosling, while Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame) occupy the executive chair.
Before, the aforementioned interpreters gave life to two key characters of Between knives and secrets, directed by Rian Johnson. In addition to an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, the film won three Golden Globes, including one for Ana de Armas for Best Actress in a Comedy.
We will also see the Cuban actor soon in Blonde, a drama of the red “N” where she plays the mythical Marilyn Monroe. For this film, there is no official release date yet.
The entry Ana de Armas replaces Scarlett Johansson in film with Chris Evans was first published in Cinema PREMIERE.
