Actors who filmed their scenes, but will not appear in Thor: Love and thunder

In recent news, we learned that the actress from Game of ThronesLena Headey had an enigmatic role in the upcoming God of Thunder movie. However, even though she shot her scenes, her part had to be cut from the final cut. Of course, this did not prevent Headey from facing the lawsuit from her former agency for allegedly not paying the commission corresponding to her work on the MCU tape… But returning to the subject, there are another couple of actors whose material filmed for Thor: Love and Thunder It also ended up in the trash can.

The name of such actors came from the very Christian balewho in Thor: Love and Thunder plays the malevolent Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods. In a recent interview with press stage, the British applauded the work of his co-stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. He thought that, in general, it was “a very, very good cast”, in which he also contemplates two histriones who (as he revealed) sadly did not make it to the final cut of the film.

«I got to work with Peter Dinklage. He’s not in the final film, but I got to work with him and he’s fantastic,” Bale said. «I got to work with Jeff Goldblum, but he’s not in the final movie either. So, as you can see, a lot of stuff ended up on the cutting room floor, even though it’s beautiful, shiny stuff.”

Neither Jeff Goldblum nor Peter Dinklage were strangers to the MCU. On the one hand, the actor jurassic-park played the flamboyant Grand Master in the film Thor: Ragnarök 2017. For his part, Dinklage played Eitri, the King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir, in the film Avengers: Infinity War of 2018. These productions live action from Marvel Studios were the first and last in which we saw these characters respectively. Therefore, it would certainly have been a pleasant surprise to have them back in the fourth installment of the Nordic Avenger; in particular, knowing what he spent with them during and after the Blip.

Days ago, the director of Thor: Love and ThunderTaika Waititi, confirmed that he originally put together a four-hour-long cut (via CBR). However, in addition to the need to reduce the time for its theatrical release, the filmmaker said he is aware that there are scenes that seem great at the time of shooting them, but that do not end up working as part of the whole. Hence, deleting material was also a creative decision.

“In the moment, you say, ‘This is the best thing anyone has ever filmed in the history of filming things.’ Then you go into editing and think, ‘I still like it.’ But then, after spending six months on the movie, you realize that it was fun that day, but it doesn’t fit in the movie,” Waititi said.
